What Is AutoGraw and How Does It Work?
AutoGraw is a licensed Tampermonkey userscript that adds workflow, organization, accessibility, privacy, and appearance controls to supported McGraw Hill assignment pages. It runs inside a compatible desktop browser and provides an in-page menu where users can configure how supported questions and repetitive page actions are handled.
Key takeaways
AutoGraw is a licensed Tampermonkey userscript for supported McGraw Hill assignment pages.
Its answer, submission, navigation, and fallback controls can be configured separately.
Support depends on the browser, assignment environment, question type, and current page layout.
AutoGraw is independent and is not affiliated with or endorsed by McGraw Hill.
Instead of repeatedly moving between tools, selecting the same controls, submitting each response, and navigating through compatible activities manually, users can enable only the AutoGraw features that fit their workflow. Automatic submission and navigation are optional. Manual review and fallback controls remain available when a question cannot be handled reliably.
AutoGraw is independently operated. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or otherwise associated with McGraw Hill.
How AutoGraw works
AutoGraw is distributed as a userscript. A userscript is JavaScript that runs on designated websites through a manager such as Tampermonkey. That makes AutoGraw different from an extension installed directly through the Chrome Web Store: Tampermonkey manages the script, its site permissions, and its updates.
After AutoGraw is installed and activated with a valid license key, its menu appears on supported McGraw Hill pages. The user can enable individual features, adjust delays, change interface settings, view current automation status, and stop automated actions when necessary.
The standard setup process is:
- Choose Monthly or Lifetime access.
- Complete checkout through Stripe.
- Retrieve the license key displayed after checkout and delivered by email.
- Install Tampermonkey in a supported desktop browser.
- Enable Developer mode and user-script permissions if the browser requires them.
- Download or import the AutoGraw userscript from the license-gated download page.
- Open a supported McGraw Hill page.
- Open the account area in the AutoGraw menu and redeem the license key.
- Configure the desired features and settings.
The AutoGraw installation guide explains each step and includes a troubleshooting checklist for cases where the menu does not appear.
Auto Answers
Auto Answers is the central AutoGraw workflow feature. On a supported assignment, it reads the current question, requests or prepares a response through AutoGraw's configured answering flow, and attempts to match that response to the controls displayed on the page.
When a safe match is available, AutoGraw can fill the corresponding response. Auto Answers can work alongside Auto Submit and Auto Advance to reduce repetitive page interaction. A configurable delay determines how long AutoGraw waits before beginning the answer step.
No answering system is guaranteed to be correct. Question formats and page layouts can change, and some activities require manual interpretation. Users should review important responses and follow their institution's academic-integrity policies.
Auto Submit, Auto Advance, and manual controls
AutoGraw separates answer preparation, submission, and navigation so users can decide how much control they want to retain.
Auto Submit
Auto Submit confirms a prepared response after an optional delay. Users who prefer to inspect each response can disable it and submit manually.
Auto Advance
Auto Advance moves to the next supported question after the current step is finished. It has its own timing control and can be disabled without turning off the rest of the workflow.
Manual Submit
Manual Submit allows AutoGraw to prepare or fill a supported response while leaving the final submission action to the user.
Manual Fallback
Manual Fallback pauses when a response cannot be matched safely. The user can complete the unsupported or ambiguous question and then continue. This prevents the workflow from blindly applying a response to an unrecognized layout.
Delay-based controls support immediate operation, several preset intervals, and custom timing. Timing customization should be selected according to the user's preferred review process and page performance.
Supported question types
AutoGraw's current SmartBook implementation includes handling for these question formats where the page layout is supported:
- Multiple choice
- True or false
- Multiple select, including “select all that apply”
- Fill in the blank
- Select text
- Matching
Its EZTO implementation includes supported multiple-choice-style controls, true-or-false choices, fill-in-the-blank fields, dropdowns, text fields, and text areas.
Matching questions can require more complicated interaction than ordinary choices. AutoGraw attempts to place matches automatically, but it can pause for manual completion when a reliable mapping is unavailable.
Support always depends on the assignment environment and the current page structure. AutoGraw does not claim to support every Connect activity, external website, essay, graph, simulation, embedded third-party tool, or arbitrary assignment format.
SmartBook workflow features
AutoGraw includes additional controls intended for supported SmartBook activities.
Auto Confidence can choose High, Medium, Low, or Random when an activity requests a confidence level. This reduces repeated confidence prompts during compatible adaptive activities.
Double Credit provides a duplicate-answer workflow on compatible SmartBook layouts. It includes a separate confidence option for the second response. Availability depends on the particular activity and page structure.
Anti Logout generates periodic activity intended to reduce ordinary session timeouts while the user is working on a supported page. It cannot override school authentication rules, expired credentials, forced sign-outs, or every session-management system.
Assignment and content tools
AutoGraw groups several supplementary tools into the same menu. Their exact coverage depends on the course view and page layout, so they should be treated as layout-dependent rather than universal.
Assignment Organizer collects detected assignment details, discussions, and due dates into a more convenient view. Discussion Writer provides a guided drafting flow on supported discussion pages. File Solver prepares supported assignment files for the answering workflow. Material Exporter can package supported course content and files into a downloadable archive.
These tools are meant to reduce the number of separate tabs and utilities a student needs. They do not change instructor settings, create extra attempts, or unlock content the user cannot normally access.
Saved answers and Text Unlocker
The Save Answers feature can store accepted responses locally for later reuse. Saved entries are associated with a normalized signature based on the question, its type, and its available options. Users can inspect saved-answer information, export it as JSON, clear the local collection, or disable saving.
Text Unlocker restores ordinary browser actions on supported pages that disable them through page-level controls. Depending on the page, this may restore text selection, copying, cutting, and the right-click menu. It does not provide access to encrypted, paid, private, or otherwise unavailable course content.
Automation HUD
The optional Automation HUD is a floating status panel that displays the current workflow stage. It can indicate whether AutoGraw is scanning, preparing a response, applying it, submitting, or advancing.
The panel also displays session-level progress information. It can be moved, collapsed, or disabled, allowing users to keep the status visible without permanently covering important page content.
Privacy and presentation controls
AutoGraw includes several interface and presentation options beyond its assignment workflow.
Hide Personal Info masks supported personal details that are visible on the page while recording or sharing a screen. This is a visual masking feature; it does not delete or modify account records.
Hide Menu allows the AutoGraw interface to be hidden and restored with a configurable keyboard shortcut. The current default displayed by the menu is Ctrl + Shift + F.
Hide Tab Switching controls ordinary focus and visibility events received by supported McGraw Hill pages when the user leaves the tab. It does not guarantee that instructors, institutions, browsers, operating systems, extensions, monitoring products, or third-party services cannot observe other activity.
Discord Logging sends selected AutoGraw status events to a Discord webhook created and controlled by the user. Configuring a webhook does not give AutoGraw access to the user's full Discord account.
Interface customization
Users can change how AutoGraw and supported McGraw Hill page surfaces look. Available appearance controls include:
- Website Dark Mode
- Menu Dark Mode
- Theme selection
- Font selection
- Menu opacity
- A translucent Glass Menu effect
- See-Through Drag, which increases transparency while moving the menu
- A movable and collapsible interface
Individual feature cards can expand to reveal their settings. Enabled tools may also appear in a compact tool dock on supported pages.
Supported browsers and devices
AutoGraw is designed to run through Tampermonkey on supported Chromium-based desktop browsers, including:
- Google Chrome
- Microsoft Edge
- Brave
- Opera
- Other compatible Chromium-based desktop browsers
Safari, Firefox, and mobile browsers are not currently listed as supported. Website and browser updates can affect compatibility because AutoGraw interacts with third-party page structures that may change without notice.
AutoGraw pricing
As of October 2026, AutoGraw lists two standard access options. Visit the AutoGraw pricing page for current figures before purchasing.
Monthly access is listed at $14.99 per month. It renews automatically until canceled and includes product access, updates, and Discord community access. Customers can cancel future renewals through the Stripe customer portal, with access continuing until the end of the paid period.
Lifetime access is listed at $79.99 as a one-time payment. Current pricing copy includes future updates, early access to new releases, private Discord access, and priority Discord support.
An optional Proctor Compatibility entitlement is presented for Apple Silicon Macs with an M1 or newer processor running macOS 13 or later. It is not offered for Windows, and compatibility depends on the supported environment. Users remain responsible for following their institution's testing and academic-integrity requirements. Read the Proctor Compatibility guide before adding it to a plan.
AutoGraw is a digitally delivered product. The current refund policy states that purchases are final except where a refund is required by applicable law. License keys cannot be shared, transferred, rented, resold, or redistributed.
AutoGraw privacy practices
According to the current privacy policy, AutoGraw may process license-validation information, basic operational data, browser or device metadata used for security and fraud prevention, email addresses, purchase records, and support messages.
The policy says AutoGraw does not intentionally collect McGraw Hill usernames or passwords, grades, submissions, or academic records. It also says user data is not sold, rented, or traded and is not used to train models. Payment information is processed by Stripe under Stripe's applicable terms.
Anyone considering the product should read the current Privacy Policy, Terms of Service, and Refund Policy rather than relying only on a product overview.
Is AutoGraw right for you?
AutoGraw is best evaluated as a configurable workflow tool for supported McGraw Hill pages. It may suit desktop users who want optional answer assistance, submission and navigation controls, manual fallback behavior, saved-answer tools, status visibility, and extensive menu customization in one interface.
It is not a universal solution for every assignment, website, browser, or question format. Users looking for guaranteed accuracy, mobile support, universal course coverage, or an official McGraw Hill product should not expect AutoGraw to provide those things.
Before purchasing, review the complete AutoGraw feature list, check the current plans and compatibility requirements, and read the AutoGraw FAQ.
